Provide input to the Wisconsin BPDD new five year state plan
The Wisconsin Board for People with Developmental Disabilities (BPDD) will soon begin to set priorities for their next five year state plan (2017-2021).
In the recent past, the BPDD has supported policy and practice that would not allow people to fully participate in, or have access to, the full array of services including facility based prevocational services.
It is important they set priorities and establish a plan that protects the full array of services and is respectful of the choices of all people with developmental disabilities. It is equally important for the BPDD to hear that CRP’s offer meaningful work options to individuals with I/DD and that “meaningful” should be defined by the person and his/her family based on their needs, interests, and capabilities, and not public policy that supports a “one-size-fits-all” approach.
Please take moment and respond to their short survey. It is important they hear from you.
