Weigand, Kylmanen visit D.C. as advocates for disabled

Two area residents who make use of Opportunities Inc. services traveled to Washington D.C. recently to join a grassroots effort in favor of rehabilitation/training employment for people with disabilities.

Jennifer Weigand and Mackenzie Kylmanen traveled to the nation’s capitol through an organization called SourceAmerica, a national nonprofit that works to create employment opportunities for people with disabilities.

Barb LeDuc, president and CEO of Opportunities Inc. and Robin Kennedy, director of agency relations for Opportunities, accompanied the two self-advocates. The Fort Atkinson contingent joined with 150 other self-advocates and providers associated with 37 different nonprofit organizations.
